The Dynamic Duo

This post is long overdue but I finally did it 😆 I finally wrote about the 2 people whose names I've mentioned many times in my stories, tweets, and basically everywhere! 2 particular people who make our family's daily life easier. The women whose stories make my breakfast & coffee time more interesting plus full of laughter. Our maids: Dewi and Yuli. Or The Dynamic Duo as I called them 👩🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳 

-Dewi & Yuli-

First, let me introduce you to Dewi. Dewi & Ari, our driver, came to us as a married couple. They have a son named Kevin who lived with his aunty back in the village. When Dewi & Ari first came here I was still in recovery state... So yeah... I don't remember when the couple first arrived. Maybe it was also because I didn't interact much with any of them. Bi Yeni, a relative of mine, still lived here. She was pretty much in charge of our daily life, especially in the kitchen with Dewi. But when Bi Yeni went back home to Sukabumi, Dewi became my second hand. Time passed. Sadly Dewi & Ari got divorced. But both of them told us that they still want to work here. Dewi & Ari promised that they're gonna put their differences aside & be professional, at least during work hours 😜Dewi is a smart woman and a very responsible maid. Giving her important tasks, especially taking care of me & Kukka, is the most reasonable thing to do. Dewi knows how to act whenever I have a seizure, first aid & all. Like those who are closest to me, Dewi notices right away whenever I'm "out of the zone". She'd call me a couple of times & stand next to me, ready to catch me when I'm gonna fall. Dewi is sort of an alarm too 😆 She'll remind me not to have that 3rd cup of coffee of the day, when to take my morning nap or why I shouldn't take my pills because "Ibu tadi baru minum kopi, Bu... Tunggu sejam lagi ya..." 😜 If I want to go to meet my friends or just... Around? Those who are close to me will say "Ditemenin Dewi aja." 🙄 I can trust Dewi to assist Kukka when it's impossible for me to go. She'd be the first person my daughter will ask for help whenever I can't.

                                           

As for the cooking part... Oh well... Let's just say I'm blaming Dewi for making SiBapa & I fat 😂 Every Sunday evening she'll send our weekly menu plan. Then we discuss what to cook, which meal to ditch, what kind of dessert to make & how much the whole thing will cost. Before the night ends, Dewi reminds me politely to send the money to buy the weekly groceries. After that I can go to sleep in peace, knowing that our tummies will be filled with delicious food for the next 7 days 😄

As for Yuli, she's quite the opposite of Dewi. But thankfully both of them get along very well. Yuli takes things lightly. I guess that's why whenever Dewi says or does something that's quite...unpleasant, Yuli's like "Oh whatever 😎" She knows when her partner is in a bad mood and doesn't really care about it. Yuli's motto is probably "You do your job. I do mine." 😆 She has a cute daughter named Aylen and her husband's name is... Get this! It's..... ARI!!!! 😂 Coincidence??? I called it fate!!! 🤣

Yuli is the one who makes me laugh while I'm having my breakfast and morning coffee or... Pretty much most of the time 😃 Her stories, comments, questions... All sound innocent yet somehow end up hilarious. Yuli is also quite curious about things. For example, she would comment about how much my shoes or Hubs' baseball cap cost. Or this one time she looked at me with her big eyes "Ibu mau ngasih segitu???" when I told her to give some money to the poor kids who live next to her house. To which I replied "Kenapa Yul??? Kurang ya?"  Then Yuli laughed & said: "Kebanyakan bu!" 😅😆 Just like Dewi, Yuli is also a hardworking woman. Everyday around 11am she would ask for permission to pick up Aylen from school and then she comes back to work. That's pretty much her daily routine. 

Now don't get me wrong! Just like any other employee, The Dynamic Duo do have their differences & they piss me off sometimes. Things can go wrong & their attitudes can be annoying. Dewi is quite a Miss Knows It All. She gives her opinions about things & tends to dominate conversations even when I am the one who do the talking. Yuli is too chill she often does her chores not as serious as expected. Like there's some stain on the newly washed shirt or the drinking glass still smell. But like I said, The Dynamic Duo is a big help for SiBapa, Kukka, Moochi & me. So not only they complete each other, but also the 3 of us 😉
