43

What to give oh what to give?

He who has more than enough,

Yet has an insatiable desire for more.

Yesterday was a day well spent.

Because look!

Today our baby and I have an extra token of love.

Only for you to see that tomorrow until forever,

You'll always have TIME and LOVE.

From us who love and appreciate you the most.

HAPPY 43 BAPA!!!

Eighteenth

Since we've spent the night making rhyme,
Continuing it today should be sublime.
18 years of ups with downs is no crime,
Consider it like sparkling water with lil bit of lime.
Fresh and chilled and served in our prime,
Now let's add more US rather than I'M.
More patience and love, let's fill our home with joyful chime.
May the adventure last forever, exciting for a lifetime.

HAPPY 18th ANNIVERSARY, YOU 😘

KESTINGRUM: Casting Dari Rumah

My husband, or as some of my loyal readers might now him as SiBapa, is a...complicated man. You can't really describe him with just one word or two. For example SiBapa can be very lazy. So lazy that he often does nothing but playing DOTA all day long and finishes his job at the very last minute. But when he's being productive, SiBapa just won't stop doing the things he does until it's done. And it has to be good. Everything has to meet his standards which are often quite unusual. If things don't go according his way, SiBapa can be a really pain in the butt to work with. That's why I never want to work with or for him :p But SiBapa, from what I've heard, is also a very cool person to work with. He enjoys teaching to those who are eager to learn. He's very smart, very funny and he will tell you things as it is. If your idea sucks, SiBapa will tell you in your face. Then he lets you think by yourself to make your ideas better after giving you some hints. Many times he'll help you by offering some solutions or at the end even his ideas. And so far, SiBapa's ideas from what I've heard are... Not disappointing :p

SiBapa enjoys his work as a commercial director but he's never satisfied. He always wants more. Not long ago practically out of the blue SiBapa wanted to make t-shirts. What did he do to make it happen? He bought a Screen Printing Rotary Press. It's a machine which you can print stuff on t-shirts. Does he sell any t-shirts? Not that I know of. But Kukka did! There was this school project which she had to earn some money. What did Kukka do? Made t-shirts using SiBapa's machine :)) Alhamdulillah lots of friends and families bought Kukka's t-shirts and the money was donated to her school for the expedition to Gunung Padang. Not bad 'eh? :)

Anyways... SiBapa has been directing television commercials for 9 years now. You might know his TVCs such as Ramayana, Tokopedia, Aqua, etc. For many years of experiences SiBapa often work with the same team, same people, including the talents/models who act in his commercials. Sometimes it's a must but many times he also has to use the same talents because of the lack of choices. But SiBapa believes that somewhere out there, there must be lots of people who actually can act. It's just a matter of finding the people and giving them the opportunities. Then one day SiBapa had an idea of making an application called Kestingrum. What is Kestingrum? Now before I tell you about it, please don't consider this blogpost as a promotional act :)) I don't do that. Not even for my beloved husband. I write about Kestingrum because objectively speaking, I think this is a brilliant idea. How do I know that it is brilliant? Well... I did work in advertising for many years. I still remember how we use the same talents over the years again and again and again. And it still pisses me off! You can even see it on tv, right??? Oh this is the guy from commercial A! Oh look! There he is again on commercial B! And on and on and on. BOOOOORING!!!! And so after lots of hours of hard work, here is SiBapa's latest thing:

Kestingrum is a free application which you can download from Apple App Store or Google Play on your smartphone. It's an app which will let you know if there's any vacancy as a model for a tv commercial. If there is a cast wanted, Kestingrum will let you know everything that you have to do and you can post your action on the app. If you're selected, congratulations! If not... Well... At least you don't have to spend hours in traffic or standing in lines in some office which is far away from home. Then when it's finally your turn, it only lasts for one minute or maybe even less. Yup! Casting can be mentally and emotionally exhausting. It also costs a lot of money. Then the worst thing happen: after probably days of waiting in vain, you find out that you're not selected!! :( But now all you have to do is download the app Kestingrum, look for the jobs you want, follow the instructions, find a nice spot at home to act, upload your video and wait for the announcement. You can also find Kestingrum on Facebook, Youtube and follow its instagram account: @kestingrum.

SiBapa is very passionate and proud of Kestingrum. I must say it's been quite a long while since the last time I see him so eager doing a project like this. There were days (and still) when all he talks about is Kestingrum and as his wife, I totally support him. There are days when I see him very exhausted. But then I hear him making jokes and laugh outloud with his team while working on Kestingrum. So I assume everything is going great. It's March 2019 and SiBapa has already done so many things. Who knows what he has in his mind for years to come. I, the wife, will just let him surprise me. Like always ;)

Oh! As a bonus, here is SiBapa talking about talents:

Enjoy! :p

'Til We Meet Again, Sentosa

Big sigh.

I've spent hours... No. Days! To manage this trip. From where to stay, where to go, what places to visit, until what TIME to do all those things. Completed with hour-minute! I've wrote the list on papers, saved it on my iPhone & iPad. BUT of course at the end it's all useless. Planning doesn't work that well in this little family of ours :))

Okay let me start with where we went for Kukka's midterm break & Hubster's birthday. Resorts Sentosa Island. Why? I'm not so sure... I think it was because we couldn't go too far because of Hubster's working schedule. Lots of things were uncertain so we decided to go somewhere...familiar. So Sentosa - Singapore it is! We stayed from March 26th - 29th at Equarius Sentosa Hotel. Totally recommended. It has great service, beautiful view & our bedroom turned out to be better than expected. The breakfast was kinda boring though. It was delicious but everyday it has the same menu. So if you do want to stay at this hotel, consider to have breakfast outside since there are lots of great places to eat.

Something hilarious happened when we came to the hotel. After everything was settled, the receptionist congratulated Hubster on his upcoming birthday, which was the next day. But then the guy apologized for not being able to accomodate my request. You see... A day before we flew to Singapore I sent an e-mail to the hotel & requested to have a birthday cake, complete with a lighted candle, sent to our room at exactly 00:00/midnight/March 27th. When the receptionist mentioned it Hubster was like "What?" He was confused. As for me? I practically screamed "NOOOOOO!!!! IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE!!!!!" Hubster & I bursted into laughter & the receptionist guy was... :))) Oh man! I still remember how his expression was! LOL LOL LOL!!!! His mouth was opened, his eyes confused & .... In short he was bewildered :)))) After that he kept apologizing whenever we met in the hotel area. The receptionist said "I'm so sorry!" like thousand times! LOL LOL LOL!!! I said it's okay but I have to admit I was kind of disappointed. The birthday cake was supposed to be a substitute of the birthday present which was left behind at home. Why was it at home? Because when we left to Singapore, it wasn't delivered yet!!!! :)))

THIS is my birthday present for SiBapa. We've been together for sooo many years & celebrated many birthdays together I simply didn't have any ideas anymore. Then one day I came up with this mug idea & I am pretty happy about it :)) Why? Well... Because whenever Hubs uses this mug, he will see my opinion about what kind of husband he is to me. Still sexy. Yet the older he gets, the grumpiest he becomes :p But the fact that the receptionist ruined the way I was going to give the present to Hubs was quite disappointing. And that's not all!!!! I made a mistake! When I ordered the mug, I wrote the age 43 instead of 42!!! Oh man! So sorry ya Baps :D But anyways... Let bygones be bygones! Right?!? LOL!!! LOL!!!!

As for the holiday itself... It was fun. It rained quite often but we still enjoyed it. We went to lots places such as the Universal Studios, S.E.A Aquarium, ... And others! But I must say my favorite part of the holiday was when we went to Skyline Luge. You see... Ever since I got sick I'm not allowed to drive a car anymore. It's too bad because I do enjoy driving a car. Well... It IS understandable. I mean... What if I suddenly get a seizure while driving? :D But back to Luge. It is, in their own words, is a "unique wheeled gravity cart". And yes! Just like its' tagline says "Once is never enough". It was so fun we did it twice! First time through the Jungle Trail & then the Dragon Trail. Too bad we didn't buy the pictures which were automatically taken by the cameras on the trails :(( I think I already screamed perfectly when my cart drove passed the cameras... For the Luge experience I have to thank Hubster. At first I hesitated but my babies talked me into it. It turned out to be more fun than the cable car ride. Anyways... We had so much fun in Sentosa, it would take me forever to write the experience here. At the end of the day I just want to thank ALLAH SWT for giving me the chance to spend such a lovely time with the loves of my life.

And for you, Muniku... Happy 42nd birthday! And thank you for everything. :*

14

Time flies.
Too often too fast.
So many tears, countless of laughters.
Fourteen. What a fiery ride it has been.
For better or worse, but never for granted.
If I had to choose again, I'd still choose you in a heartbeat.
The you I've known for 21 years and
Married to for 14 years and ALLAH willing for more to come.

Happy 14th anniversary Muniku!
I love you.

Daddy’s Girl

I probably already said it but who cares! I’m gonna say it again!!!!

DADS WITH DAUGHTERS ARE SO WEAK!!!!!!

And today I just prove that (once again) I’m right! So this morning Hubster, Kukka and I went for a stroll. Hubster bought Kukka a new bike, which she picked out by herself so she would be more determined to learn how to ride a bike.

So this morning the three of us woke up earlier than we used to, Hubs got into his running outfit, me in my...strolling clothes and Kukka with her new bike. Since it was a nice weather, we decided to go out from the cluster. It was a very nice Sunday morning. A lot of people were jogging, strolling and biking. Young, old, couples, singles, kids. We were having fun but then the drama happened.

Long story short, Kukka didn’t want to ride on her new bike anymore because she kept falling to the side. After only a couple of tries she already gave up! And it’s not even the 2-wheels one yet!!!! It happened because she was leaning either too much to the left or to the right while she was riding. And for some reason sometimes she stopped pedaling which made the bike.... Well... Stopped. I think Kukka was expecting the bike to keep on moving forward by itself or something. Hubster and I told her to keep on trying and trying and that we would be there to help her. We also tried to make the learning process fun by saying and doing sily things. But Kukka wasn’t eager enough to learn and to make it even worse, tears started to run down from her eyes. Which totally ruined the mood and the moment.

Hubster snapped. He said something like “Kukka selalu gitu! Nggak bisa dikit, nangis. Kalo kaya gitu terus, kapan mau bisanya?!” And then he got up, carried the bike and walked back home, leaving Kukka and me behind. I knew that Hubster was as disappointed as I was. Not to mention very tired too! I totally agreed with him. This kind of attitude is one of Kukka's bad traits. She quits easily. Sometimes I think it’s because Kukka knows that somebody will always fall for her sad face and ends up helping her. But this time I was surprised. Her dad WAS really upset. I forgot how long it was but I was impressed. Hubster actually managed to be (or at least to look) angry and ignored his precious daughter for a couple of hours!! :))) Eventhough she cried under the pillows and slowly approaching him by asking questions about the game he was playing. When they finally making skin contact (Kukka leaning on Bapa’s body, watching and commenting about the game), I was giving Hubster signs. Yes! I gave him signs NOT TO GIVE UP TOO EASILY to his little girl’s approach!!!! I could totally see it in his eyes that he was about to give up to that cute face. Not to mention the super sweet little voice. The way she says “Bapa...” Well... Yeah... Just like that, after making new promises and deals, Kukka ended up sitting on her beloved Bapa’s lap, sharing hugs and kisses. Totally predictable :))) #Buburollingeyes #Bubuyawning #Meh

Hours later Hubster came to me and made a confession. Yes, he was actually wondering whether he was being too hard on Kukka. He was thinking something like:

“Apa aku terlalu keras ya... Sebenernya kan dia cuma mau having fun...”

Dads and daughters.
SiBapa and SiBuhat.

#MAJORMEH :))))))
